Miami is always live, especially on the weekend. It doesn’t matter what time of year you go, you can always catch a good weekend vibe in Miami. So if you plan on popping into the city just for 48 hours to get your life and go back home, here are a few things you should do while you’re there:
Things to Do
Hit South Beach– I mean that’s pretty much what Miami is known for. South beach is always live with people and music and whatever else you’re into. You can find yourself walking up and down Ocean Drive drinking and eating and walking around Collins to do some shopping for hours. Then when you get tired of walking, hit the beach.
Explore Wynwood– Wynwood Walls has brought all of the worlds most famous and talented graffiti and street artists to one location. Located at 2520 NW 2nd Avenue, Miami FL 33127 you’ll explore some of the most eye-catching artwork you’ve ever seen. Below are three of my favorites:

Where to Eat
Nikki Beach Enjoy an open buffet of everything you’d want for brunch at Nikki Beach for $50. It’s a sexy ocean side outdoor oasis with cabanas, live entertainment, music and food. It’s the perfect brunch destination in Miami. Address: 1 Ocean Drive South Beach Miami Beach Florida 33139
Wynwood Diner- is a very trendy colorful diner located in Wynwood. For brunch I ordered french toast, bacon, and scrambled eggs. Address: 2601 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
Stripsteak by Michael Mina– Located in the Fontainebleau is this amazing steakhouse. I had a 8oz filet mignon with a side of mac n cheese and creamed spinach. I ended my meal with creme brulee. This meal was probably one of the best steak meals I’ve ever had and I will be returning. Address: 4441 Collins Avenue Miami Beach FL. 33140
Wynwood Kitchen & Bar – Located at the Wynwood Walls, this restaurant blends the beauty of art and good food. Address: 2550 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
Moshi Moshi- I went to Moshi Moshi late one night after partying. I was looking for somewhere that was still open with good food. I was so excited to find out they had booths where you can sit Indian style on a bench and enjoy your meal. I had sushi of course. Address: 1448 Washington Ave Miami Beach, FL 33139 and 7232 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33138
Miami is one of those places where you can pop in for a weekend and have a ball, then go home and get right back to work. That’s exactly what I did this past weekend. The girls and I took a weekend trip ironically the same weekend that the hilarious “Girls Trip” movie came out and we stayed at the luxurious ME Miami. The criteria we wanted for this adventure was not to be on South Beach where it’s overcrowded but to be somewhere more “high end” and close to other attractions. We decided Downtown Miami is the perfect location and since I’m already familiar with the Melia brand from my trip to ME Cancun, I instantly knew that ME Miami would be our go to hotel for this trip.
ME Miami is a five minute walk to the American Airlines Arena, home of all major concerts including Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Adele and the upcoming J. Cole as well as Ed Sheeran concerts. It is also the arena where the upcoming Cirque Du Soleil show will perform. The hotel is also located across the street from the brand new Frost Science Museum and Planetarium and next door to the Adrienne Arsch Center where all Broadway and Opera shows are held. ME Miami is also a ten minute drive from cultural Wynwood and the creative Miami Design District. The ME Miami is also located close to the Port of Miami, and welcomes all cruise travelers.
Upon entering the ME Miami, we were welcomed with an alluring refreshing aroma that I so vividly remember from ME Cancun. Their alluring aromast makes the Melia brand so unique to me. We stayed in the Chic Suite Room. This room has stunning views of Miami, it’s equipped with a balcony, a sound bar system perfect for connecting your own music, a minibar with everything you could possibly imagine and huge mirrors perfect for selfies and your opportunity to get creative *smirk* and my dream Spa bathroom with an over-sized rain shower, double vanity and calming tub. The tub was my favorite aspect of the room, so of coursed I indulged in a relaxing bath.
ME Miami offers fine dining and drinks at Bella’s Bar, the Aura Lounge, Rooftop Bar and the illustrious steakhouse STK. The hotel is equipped with a swimming pool perfect for swimming laps and play. They also have an infinity pool that overlooks the city which was my second favorite part of the hotel. I remember standing in the pool and overlooking Miami contemplating the joys of life. The staff at the hotel were very accommodating and honestly, I can’t wait to return.
ME Miami offers one welcome drink to each person and early check in and late check out options. You can book your stay with ME Miami on their website, and receive $100 in hotel credit to use at any food and beverage service. Also Melia Rewards members book 3 nights and you just pay 2. I almost forgot to mention that ME Miami is absolutely perfect for couples, it’s sexy, it’s romantic and even my friends kept saying “this would be perfect to come to for couples.” Does anyone have an anniversary coming up? If so, book now!
