My guacamole challenge was on this summer! Nothing refreshes my stomach more than digging chips into a glorious fresh avocado mix of onions, tomatoes, cilantro, lemon or lime juice, salt and pepper. So I decided to seek some of my favorite spots for awesome guacamole. Everyone may enjoy their guacamole a bit differently but I like mine a little salty and chunky. These are five of my favorite guac havens!
1. California Pizza Kitchen
California Pizza Kitchen has a unique spin on guacamole. Their diced avocado is filled with white corn, black beans, jicama, bell pepper, cilantro and serrano peppers. It’s served with black and white chips. This unique combo is chunky and more filling because it includes different veggies. I loved their version of guacamole because it was different from the normal guacamole and was a perfect start to a great meal.
2. El Patron
El Patron does something that I think is so imperative to creating perfect guacamole for your customer. They mix and mash their guacamole right in front of you. This gives you the option to adjust the guacamole to your liking. If you like it a little more mushy then chunky, you can ask for them to keep mashing. If you like it a little saltier than normal, you can ask for that too. I loved their guacamole because it was the perfect combination of everything and it was fresh.
3. 5 Burro Cafe
5 Burro‘s atmosphere is great if you’re looking for a intimate mexican spot with good people and good food. 5 Burro’s guacamole is a light and refreshing start to a great meal. Their guacamole is a bit mushy and isn’t filled with a lot of ingredients but it’s tasty.
4. Rosa Mexicano
If you like fresh guacamole, you will love Rosa Mexicano. They put the “Guac” in Guacamole! The fresh guacamole and all its ingredients are mixed right in front of you. You also have the option of making it spicy or keeping it mild. I may have to crown it the best guacamole I’ve ever had.
Now now now, don’t laugh but I absolutely love the guacamole and chips from Chipotle. Well I think it’s more so the combination of the salty and flavorful chips and when mixed with the guacamole the combination is addicting. I also must have my burrito bowl with their guacamole on top, and no I don’t mind paying the extra $2.30. It’s all worth it.
