Pam’s Picks-Sugar Factory

Got a sugar rush? Looking for something sweet? I definitely suggest you experience Sugar Factory, down in the Meatpacking District. I kept hearing about this place and when I saw their gigantic goblets of pure alcohol and candy, I told myself that Sugar Factory was high on my Summer “To Do” list. Walking into the restaurant I felt like I was in a candy store, like the candy store in the movie “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” but this store was for adults. It was perfect! I had the Mai Tai goblet, it is composed of orange juice, pineapple juice and a mixture of rum, it was really good. I also had the shrimp alfredo, it was excellent. (Unfortunately this time I was too full to order dessert but I am definitely going to go back to try their dessert. When I do, I will give you my take on it.) Sugar Factory is a cute spot for everyone. There were couples, families, and girls just out for the night. What I enjoyed most about Sugar Factory is it is totally unlike any other restaurant that I’ve ever been to. Who would of thought that putting candy in a drink would be such a hit?

  1. I was in NYC for New Years and Sugar Factory was definitely on my list to visit. This whimsical yet adult-like establishment lived up to its reviews. It’s a great place to have a girls night out, celebrate birthdays, or just to have some fun. They are know for their infamous goblets, a ALCHOLIC beverage with all different types of candy themes for 2 or 3 to share. I had the Lollipop Passion goblet, which taste very tropical and delicious with 2 colorful swirl Lollipops. For dinner I had the blackened Salmon with asparagus. It was cooked to perfection, my only draw back would be it had way too much lemon on it. Just ask for not so much lemon. My overall experience was great. I would recommend this restaurant for anyone to try.
